Asamoah: I’m not leaving Juventus

Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has dispelled rumours that English side Chelsea have expressed interest in him.

The Juventus versatile player stressed that he has “not thought of moving to any club now” because he is comfortable with the Old Lady.

“I have not spoken to anyone,” Asamoah told Goal Ghana. “There are people who used to call me about clubs interested in me, but I don’t put my mind on those things. The most important thing is to be on the field and do what you have to do. I have a manager who will do that job.”

He added: “At the moment, I have not spoken to anyone. I am doing well and Juve is one of the biggest clubs in the world. Moving to another club has not come to mind.”

The 25-year-old believes he can hone his talent at the Turin-based side since it is his dream “to be one of the best in Africa and also to win a lot of titles.”

“I want to retire looking at awards and to prove to my son and people that when I was playing this is what I got. In football if you don’t gain anything important then the only thing you can show is pictures of yourself.”

The Ghana international disclosed his three favourite players at the Serie A side among whom France international Paul Pogba stood out.

“My favourites at Juve are Andrea Pirlo, Gianluigi Buffon and Paul Pogba. I remember when Pogba came to join us in the summer he was young, but I could see he’s got the talent. People can see what he’s got now. When someone is doing well you have to praise him and I have seen his qualities; he’s tall and it is difficult to find people like him who are skillful,” Asamoah pointed out.
