First Capital promotes ICT

First Capital Plus Bank has constructed an ultra-modern Information Communication Technology (ICT) center for the people of Ajumako Brofoyedur in the Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam (AEE) District of the Central Region.

The GH¢52,000 ICT center has learning materials, computers, printers, Canon photocopier machine, Projector, screen, internet moderms, UPS, APC Surge Arrester Extension Board, stabilizers, among others.

Inaugurating the center, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of First Capital Plus Bank, John Kofi Mensah, said the institution believes in improving the lives of people in the country.

Mr Mensah stated that the financial institution’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy was geared towards alleviating poverty among women and children in deprived communities.

“The choice for the establishment of the ICT Center was clearly aligned with our CSR Strategy so we did not hesitate at all to use this district as the pioneering district for this important societal impact strategy,” he added

The District Director of Education, John Horna noted that apart from education, computers have a significant impact on the business community, healthcare delivery, law enforcement and governance, communication.

He therefore urged to the staff of the school to take good care of the facility to enhance teaching and learning.

The headmaster of the school, Thompson Owusu mentioned some of the problems facing the school as the lack of chairs, tables, portable water, as well as the existing deplorable kindergarten, among others.

For instance, a student who wanted to go and fetch water to drink during class time sometime ago was nearly knocked down by a car, he added.

He appealed to First Capital Plus Bank to help the school to gain access to portable water.
