ECG unveils strategic plan for optimal performance

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has unveiled a new corporate strategic plan to guide its operations for optimal performance.

The Reverend Hutton Mensah, the Managing Director, said it was anchored on five strategic pillars - customer satisfaction, system reliability, operational efficiency, organizational culture and loss reduction.

This was at the inauguration of two new ECG offices at separate ceremonies held at Offinso and Konongo, to bring its services closer to customers.

He said the company was fully aware of the changing dynamics in the business landscape and would do everything to meet the expectations of its customers.

It has now introduced a performance management system for quality assurance and high performance by the employees, and that the productivity of every worker was going to be measured and appropriately recognized.

“We believe that the foundation being laid by establishing these performance management systems will support the superstructure of a very reliable ECG into the future,” he said.

The Rev Mensah appealed to customers to make sure that they paid their electricity bills in full and promptly since this was the way to aid the company to improve the quality of its services.

They should also give out miscreants engaged in the theft of electrical cables and illegal power connection, saying the activities of such people were a major bother, disrupting electricity supply and hampering the operation of the company.

Nana Wiafe Akenten II, Omanhene of Offinso, urged the ECG to place premium on customer care, and it should pay serious attention to the complaints and concerns raised by customers about its operations and work hard to address them.
