YFM, First Atlantic Bank introduce debit card

YFM in collaboration with First Atlantic Bank has introduced a “Faym debit card” to allow customers, particularly the youth, to carry cash with ease. The card has special security features and multiple functions that allow users to transact business online and access all ATM machines locally.

It was launched on Thursday together with “Laud in GH,” a show organised every year to entertain people to a real art of various dance hall artists in the music industry. Mr William Nanka-Bruce, Director of Yfm, said the partnership with First Atlantic Bank was to create innovative ways of making life much easier for people.

In a world where technology dominates, he said ground-breaking thoughts were critical to devise dynamic ways of solving modern day problems, hence the need for the introduction of the Faym card.

Mr Nanka-Bruce said the card had multiple operational functions that made it easier to use for online transactions and expressed the hope that the youth would find it convenient as the number one bank card to enhance their lives.

Mr Sebastian Lovelage Yalley, Head of E-Banking, First Atlantic Bank, said the unique saving functions of the card would promote a savings habit, reduce cash handling and encourage online shopping.

He said the debit card would also allow one to access all ATM machines locally, adding, the card was pin-protected and with every transaction made there was an SMS alert for notification making it secure and safe to use.

Mr Yalley said the card, available in all First Atlantic Bank branches, could be activated using one’s mobile phone and point of sale turndown. Mr Jay Folie, Host of “Laud in GH” said the concept was to bring Ghanaians together to witness the power of local music by favourite artistes.

He urged entertainment fans to converge at the Accra Sports Stadium and the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on December 24 and 25 to celebrate the unique dance hall music. “We have put a line-up of the best art one can ever find in the country to a special night of dance hall explosion,” he said.
