Metro Mass adjudged best transport company 2013

Metro Mass Transit limited has been adjudged the best transport operator in the country at the 4th National Road Safety Awards held in Accra on Thursday, November, 14 2013.

It won Breathalyzers, 55HP Tyre Compressors, Tyre Pressure and Thread Gauges, Warning Triangles, NDA Training, Reflective Jackets and Tapes, Road Traffic Regulations (LI2180) and Act 683 of the Highway Code, a citation and a plaque all worth Ghc20,000.

GPRTU and Intercity STC placed second and third place taking home same prizes, citation and a plaque valued at Ghc15,000 and Ghc10,000 respectively.

In the Haulage Transport Category, S.O Frimpong Transport, took the first position followed by Freight Links Logistics and Global Haulage taking the second and third spots respectively. Their awards are also equipment, citation and a plaque each, all valued at Ghc13, 000.

In the Liquid Haulage Category, J.K Ahiardome Transport Company Limited took the first position with J.K Horgle Transport Services and S.O Frimpong grabbing the second and third positions in that order. Their awards are also equipment, citation and a plaque each, all valued at Ghc13, 000.

In the media category for the Best Road Safety Journalist award, Diana Lorden Forson of GTV won best reporting for TV, Nelson Adanuti Nyadror and Maxwell Suuk of Diamond FM, Tamale won best reporting for radio. In the print media, Geoffrey Buta of Ghanaian Times won best reporter. Their prizes were Samsung galaxy tabs and a certificate each, all valued at Ghc5000.
