Use your talents for job creation- KAMA Boss

Dr Micheal Agyekum Addo, Chief Executive Officer of Kama Group of Companies has appealed to the youth not to solely depend on government for provision of jobs. He noted that every individual had a natural ability that could be used for the benefit of the individual and society as a whole.

Dr Agyekum Addo was delivering a lecture on Business Development organised by the British Council for the youth as part of the Council’s 70th anniversary celebration. The lecture which was the third in the series of lectures organised by the Council on entrepreneurship was attended by young entrepreneurs, graduates, tertiary students and the unemployed.

He noted that governments across the globe were facing economic challenges which had hindered their ability to create jobs for all unemployed in their countries. He cited global unrest, natural disasters, unstable economies and economic crunches as some of the factors militating against governments' abilities to create jobs for all who need them.

He urged the youth to identify employment opportunities in their areas in an effort to curb the rising cases of unemployment in the country. He cited positive attitude, skills and knowledge in a particular area as the main ingredients needed for job creation by any individual.

Dr Agyekum Addo urged the youth to clad themselves with honesty, spirit of investment, hard work and the fear of God as such virtues were very vital in the entrepreneurial success of any individual.

“I would also urge you not to forget your background when God blesses you, by always endeavouring to assist others”, he added.

He mentioned agro-processing, selling of beauty products, dress making and flori-culture such as the making of couch with canes as some of the opportunities for wealth creation for graduates.
