KP Boateng could be fit to face Chelsea - Heldt

Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng could make a quick return for Schalke 04 as they lock horns with English giants Chelsea at the Veltins Arena on October 22.

Boateng is currently in the treatment room in Munich over a knee injury. Ralph Frank, a former physiotherapist of Borussia Dortmund, is working with the Ghanaian to recover in time.

The general manager of the Gelsinkirchen-based club, Horst Heldt, is optimistic that the star midfielder will be fit for the clash with the Stamford Bridge outfit.

“There have been significant positive effects. Everyone is confident,” said the Schalke manager.

The player aggravated his chronic knee injury two weeks ago as his side beat Augsburg 4-1 which made him to miss the World Cup qualifying first leg between Ghana and Egypt.

Schalke are having six points and are leading a group made up of FC Basel, Chelsea, and Steua Bucharesti.
