Desailly defrauded..as he heeds JAK's Investment call

In response to an appeal by President J.A. Kufuor to plough back part of his resources to Ghana, Marcel Desailly, the Ghanaian-born captain of the French national team, came down seeking to invest but ended up being defrauded of ?500million.

President Kufuor met Marcel Desailly in France last year while on an official visit there and impressed upon the soccer star to come home and invest.

He accepted the challenge and proceeded to purchase a land in Ghana to build a School complex for the needy. But he was duped by six people in the land deal.

The six allegedly collected the money through Madam Elisabeth Desailly, 75, mother of Marcel, to sell 36 plots at La Bawaleshie in Accra to him for the construction of a school complex.
