President Kufuor arrives in Beijing

BEIJING -- The president of the Republic of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor, arrived here Thursday afternoon to continue his eight-day visit to China.

The Ghanaian president came to visit China at the invitation ofPresident Jiang Zemin.

Prior to Beijing, President Kufuor traveled to Shanghai and Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province in northeast China.

Kufuor arrived in Shanghai, on the first leg of his visit, on Sunday.

Afterwards, the Ghanaian president visited Shenyang from Wednesday to Thursday. During his stay there, Kufuor met with Liaoning provincial governor Bo Xilai and visited local firms, including the Shenyang L&D Foods Corporation, the Shenyang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Corporation and the Shenyang Green Ecological Garden Corporation.
