Mahama not a divisive leader - Kofi Adams

Deputy General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams says Dr. Tony Aidoo’s recent grumbles about the neglect of his policy monitoring and evaluation unit was ill-handled.

Kofi Adams says Dr. Aidoo’s plaint sought to portray President John Mahama as a leader, who has sidelined certain people within the party.

He says such manner of expressing internal concerns portend ill consequences for the government and the party.

Dr. Aidoo, a week ago, said his office had been starved of resources and attention since President John Mills passed away and President Mahama took over.

According to him, not only had his staff not been paid for some months but also government officials no longer submitted themselves to scrutiny as used to be the case.

Adams told XYZ Breakfast show Host Moro Awudu on Tuesday that despite the legitimacy of the concerns raised by Dr. Aidoo, the mode of expression of those concerns left much to be desire.

“Tony Aidoo no doubt will deserve that right to be able to raise those concerns that he has, but sometimes in raising those concerns, we must not make it look like some of us have been selected and targeted because we are supposed to be this and that,” he warned.
