Firstbanc appoints managing director

Accra, September 20, 2013-The Board and Management of FIRSTBANC FINANCIAL SERVICES LIMITED is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs KOKUI ADU as MANAGING DIRECTOR of the COMPANY. She has over 25 years experience in both the Public and Private Sector where she has served in various capacities and most recently as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Students Loan Trust Fund.

Mrs. Kokui Adu is a Data Analyst and Financial Management professional with considerable experience in planning and financial management. She has worked in various roles in tertiary institutions and the financial services industry including positions in senior management at the University of Ghana, a Lecturer in Finance and Investments at GIMPA, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Assurance Research Institute of KPMG LLP, Montvale, USA. Kokui, holds an MBA in Corporate Finance and Investments Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, USA.

Her success in various roles has been demonstrated through key achievements at the University of Ghana where she established the Students Financial Aid Office the first of its kind in any public tertiary institution in the country. She played a key role in the setting up of the Students Loan Trust Fund, growing the institution to its current status as a reliable partner in addressing cost sharing in tertiary education in Ghana. She serves on the Boards of the Students Loan Trust Fund, Ghana Revenue Authority and the Central Securities Depository.

FIRSTBANC is extremely pleased to welcome Mrs KOKUI ADU as its MANAGING DIRECTOR and looks forward to benefiting from her expertise in developing new and existing business lines. Following this appointment, Mr MAWULI HEDO has been appointed as the CEO of THE FIRST GROUP (GHANA) LIMITED.
