President Arrives In Japan

President Kufuor is in Japan at the start of a two- week tour that will also take him to China. He left on Friday night. The President is accompanied on his 46th foreign trip in less than two years by his wife Theresa Kufuor, Senior Minister J. H. Mensah and Foreign Minister Hackman Owusu Agyemang.

While in Japan, the President would sign an $80 million grant for the construction of the Accra- Yamonransa road. He would also meet with the Japanese Prime Minister, the Emperor and Empress of Japan and the business community. The focus of discussions in Japan will be in the area of investment in Ghana’s telecommunications and small-scale agro- based industries.
