BARG congratulates Mamphey

A five-man delegation from the Board of Airlines Representative in Ghana (BARG), led by an executive member, Gloria Yirenkyi, has presented a plaque and congratulated the Director General of the Ghana Civil Aviation, Air Cdre. Kwame Mamphey, on his appointment as president of the African Civil Aviation Commission.

The team praised the Director General for his exemplary leadership style and pledged their continuous support to help grow the country’s aviation industry.

On his part, the Director General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority thanked the airlines’ representative for the honour done him -- saying his appointment as president of the African Civil Aviation shows the faith African countries have in the sterling performance of Ghana’s Aviation Industry.

He told the visiting officials that his first priority as AFCAC President is to ensure a reduction in the number of incidents and accidents in some African states, and ensure that states meet ICAO minimum requirements.

Air Cdre Mamphey noted that the growth of Ghana’s domestic Aviation industry is due to the liberalisation policy embarked on by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, and assured the general public of the Civil Aviation’s continuous commitment to ensuring safety of aircraft in the country at all times.

The Director General then asked the airlines to reciprocate government’s 20% reduction in aviation fuel by reducing their fares for passengers to enjoy the benefit.
