'Businesses must focus on their strengths'

Mr Brian Tracy, Chief Executive Officer of Brian Tracy International, on Thursday urged business operators to focus their attention on their competence as a competitive-advantage tool to achieve results.

He said business operators need to effectively leverage their strengths to offer superior and quality service and product to their customers.

Mr Tracy was speaking at the ninth MTN Business World Executive Breakfast meeting organised for players in the business sector to inspire individuals and organisations to achieve personal and entrepreneurial success. He called on the participants to apply the “Law of Three” which required businesses and individuals to prioritise and focus on their three core tasks to achieve results.

Mr Tracy asked management of companies to develop courage to cut off things that work against the profitability and sustainability of their establishments.

“It takes real courage to cut off some members of staff and other resources that are not profitable,” he said.

Mr Tracy called on individuals and managers to eat, sleep and exercise well in order to stay healthy to be productive.

He said daily reading is critical for creative thinking.
