SADA to roll out housing programme

The Chief Executive Officer of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), Alhaji Gilbert Iddi, has announced that his outfit will soon start an initiative on sustainable housing.

The programme is intended to empower youth and entrepreneurs from the savannah ecological zone to go into housing construction with the use of local building materials in collaboration with Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) that fall within the zones.

Alhaji Iddi made this known at the second inter-ministerial meeting organised for the Ministers of the five Northern Ecological Zones on SADA, in Wa.

The meeting with the Ministers whose jurisdiction fall within the five Northern Ecological Zones - Volta, the Northern parts of Brong Ahafo, Upper East and West and Northern Regions - and SADA officials, is aimed at ensuring that the Authority meets its mandate within appropriate time frames.

Joy News' Correspondent, Rafiq Sallam, reports that the Upper West Regional Minister, Mr Aveah Nsoh, who doubles as the Chairman of the inter-ministerial meeting was optimistic SADA will deliver its mandate with the housing programme despite challenges it is facing.

SADA is mandated with coordinating development agenda for the five Northern Savannah Ecological Zones in Ghana.
