Stop behaving like a "serial caller" - Baako tells Nyaho

“You are not a serial caller”, Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Kweku Baako Jr., has told New Patriotic Party (NPP) founder-member, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, and has, therefore, urged him to resort to party structures in seeking redress concerning party issues, rather than jump to the media at the least opportunity.

Kweku Baako’s counsel to Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe comes on the heels of the former’s call for the resignation of the party’s General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, also known as Sir John, after having been convicted for criminal contempt on Wednesday.

Another party communicator, Hopeson Adorye, was also convicted for the same offence in connection with the election petition hearing.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe told XYZ Breakfast Show host, Moro Awudu, in an interview on Thursday that the “humiliation” suffered by Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie, makes him unfit to continue to be the party’s general secretary.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe believes Sir John, who nurses ambitions to retain the general secretary position of his party, must resign honourably.

“As far as Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie is concerned, and what happened in court yesterday when he was totally humiliated by his own speech [is concerned], I think the most honourable thing for him to do now is to resign as the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party. Believe me, that will save him and save the party,” Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe said.

Reacting to Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe’s resignation call, however, Kweku Baako Jr told Joy FM’s news analysis programme Newsfile on Saturday that the former Ambassador to Serbia would have done himself a lot of good had he resorted to the party structures to pursue his concerns rather than going to the media.

He said Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe is not a serial caller within the NPP and so expected him to have handled the issue in a better way than he did.
