Only wee smokers would reject final SC verdict - Ayariga

Very soon, the Supreme Court would announce and declare the genuine winner of last year’s election, and this has generated concerns about protecting our peace.

For the sake of our unity and democracy, independent bodies have taken it upon themselves to organize events to preach about peace before and after the final declaration. No one is willing to see Ghana burn and tear up because of the verdict. Both parties involved in the case have on numerous occasions stated that they are for peace and would accept whatever the court says.

It is on this score that Mr. Hassan Ayariga has stated that he does not foresee any mayhem erupting after the final verdict is made public.

The 2012 presidential candidate for the People’s National Convention (PNC) made this known on OKAY FM when he was interviewed on the possibility of violence in the country after the election petition.

According to him, he sees Ghanaians as peaceful people who would not welcome such atrocities in the country. He claims education has enlightened many in the country to know that violence is not the solution to problems.

From where he stands, he believes it is only people who “sleep in uncompleted buildings, under trees and smoke” cannabis who have the guts to start violence in the country. City dwellers would not be enticed to start violence because they have businesses to sort out, Mr. Ayariga observed.
