X'ray, Ultrasound Machines For Kaneshie Polyclinic

Accra, (Greater Accra) 29 Oct.,

X'ray and ultrasound machines were commissioned at the Kaneshie Polyclinic today as part of the re-equipment of government heath facilities under a 40 billion- cedi Netherlands government grant. The installation of the equipment will help the Ministry of Health (MOH) to strengthen the diagnostic capacities of its health facilities. Under the project, 48 government hospitals, 29 mission hospitals and 13 polyclinics are to be supplied with various types of X'ray and ultrasound machines (scan). The local partners of Phillips Medical Systems, executors of the project, will, apart from the installation, train doctors, radiologists and technicians and maintain the equipment for the next five years. Commissioning the equipment, Dr. Eunice Brookman-Amissah, Minister of Health, said the diagnostic imaging project is costing 40 million Dutch guilders, of which 40 per cent is a straight grant from the Netherlands Government. The rest is a commercial loan.
