Kokombas and Bimobas agree to peace deal

Kokombas and Bimobas have agreed to a peace deal to end their protracted conflict.

The feuding factions in Nakpanduri in the Northern region have been fighting over a parcel of land, killing and injuring many.

In a meeting mediated by the West Africa Network for Peace building, WANEP, representatives from the factions agreed to end all forms of violence.

Spokesperson for the Bimobas Daniel Dutt said both sides have agreed to dialogue and resolve all misunderstandings between them.

“Everybody agreed to the process, so fully we are on the way now to see how we will get everything done. We hope that as we agreed, [the problem] is going to [be] solved,” he said.

On his part the spokesperson for the Konkombas, Roland Kofi Mbui told Joy News the parties have been given a month to educate their people on the peace deal.
