Mahama needs an altar at the Presidency – Prophet

A renowned spiritual leader who also doubles as the President of the Council for Spiritual Churches of Ghana, Prophet Philip K. Acquah, has strongly recommended that an altar be erected at the Presidency to help provide spiritual guidance for President John Dramani Mahama.

Prophet Acquah popularly known as Odeefuo Acquah, who is also the founder and leader of the Church of Bethesda, Anyaa in Accra said if the president would allow it, a room should be set aside at the Flagstaff House for spiritual purposes.

The room would contain a special altar built and consecrated by senior pastors and prophets of the land, before which the President would bow and pray before he starts work every day. Ghana’s Coat of Arms would be prominently displayed.

“Ghana needs an altar at the Presidency!” Prophet Acquah declared on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show of Tuesday May 14, 2013.

According to Odeefuo Acquah, President Mahama – as head of the flock called Ghana – needed to commune effectively with God in order to seek direction on how to govern, and having an altar at the Presidency would underline the President’s – and by extension the nation’s – regard and respect for God.

Odeefuo Acquah insisted that Ghana’s continued peace was being protected and ensured by the many spiritual churches in the country, and anybody who thought otherwise was sadly mistaken.

“If the president would allow it, he should call the heads of spiritual churches and me Odeefuo Acquah to raise an altar at the Presidency for him. Ghana needs an altar at the seat of the seat of the Presidency, because he is the shepherd and the rest of us are his sheep he has been charged to lead and protect.

“If only the president or his advisors will listen to me, they should look for strong spiritual leaders, not those who go to trade fair and run their mouths, to raise an altar for him, as the shepherd of Ghana, because God will listen to him faster and better as our leader,” he added.
