Cocoa Affairs Court burgled

The office of one of the Circuit Court Judges at the Cocoa Affairs Court in Accra has been burgled.

The burglary was detected on Monday May 13, 2013 and it is believed to have taken placed at dawn.

It is not clear if anything was taken from the court or the Judges’ office.

A court registrar confirmed the incident to XYZ News.

The ministry’s police station has started investigations into the burglary.

The burglary comes in the wake of a raging controversy over whether the national security outfit should take custody of over thousands of pink sheets tendered in evidence at the Supreme Court in the election petition case.

The sheets are to be audited by international accounting firm KPMG.

National Security personnel were denied access to the sheets on Friday when personnel from the office, according to Coordinator Larry Gbevlo Lartey, went to the Supreme Court to protect and secure the sheets from being tampered with.

The Supreme Court gave orders for the audit on Thursday at the instance of the third Respondent’s Counsel, Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata who has been cross examining key witness Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
