NPP, NDC supporters should wait for Supreme Court verdict

Reverend Joseph Bosomah, Acting Chairperson of the Central Presbytery has appealed to supporters of the National Democratic congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be patient while the Supreme Court handles the petition challenging election 2012.

“Ghana’s democracy must be consolidated,” he said at the inauguration of Gomoa Mission Field Evangelism Drive at the Gomoa Denkyira branch of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Denkyira.

The theme was “Suffering for a purpose”.

He appealed to the Supreme Court to speed up trial to reduce political tension in the country, adding that the presidency has a period and any delay on the case could affect social, economic and political development of the country.

Rev. Bosomah expressed the hope that the supporters of both petitioners and respondents would accept the verdict of the Supreme Court in order to move the country forward.

He commended President John Dramani Mahama for making a personal appeal to the teachers to call off the strike and expressed the hope that the teachers would go back to the classroom.
