New Edubiase gets GHC2,000 ahead of CAF tie

Footy-ghana.com can confirm that Glo Premier League debutants, Amiduas Professionals have financially supported CAF Confederation Cup campaigners New Edubiase United with GHC2000 ($1000) ahead of their second clash with Congolese side Diables Noirs in Brazzaville this weekend.

Chief Executive Officer of the Club, Ahmed Nkrumah, together with some management members are of the view that this token will ease the burden of the cash trapped team ahead of their second leg clash in Congo.

Speaking to footy-ghana.com the Vice President of New Edubiase United Chris Ackummey paid a glowing tribute to Officials of Amidaus Professionals for their kind gesture.

“We were overwhelmed when we received the money from Amidaus on Friday. It will help us as you all know we have endured difficult times this year, in terms of money but we know this money will help us in so many ways. All I want to say is to give thanks to Nkrumah and the rest of the people at Amidaus who gave us this money. We will not let Ghana down when we travel to Congo for the CAF Confederation Cup this weekend,” he promised.

The Ghana Football Association had earlier given the club an amount of $20,000 towards defraying costs, but the Bekwai-based club still has to raise an amount of just under $60,000 in order to make the trip.
