Election Results Tabulation and More

Dear Dr. Afari-Gyan

It was nice talking with you. I could tell you were busy and I did not want to
belabor the point about the Results of the 2012 elections on your Website.
I have spent hours studying the Excel Spreadsheet, with the purpose of publishing
something on our Website www.globalexpressghana.com
and even though I find your formatting a little unfriendly for re-publication, I
noticed on your Website, www.dc.gov.gh that you have listed the number of Registered
voters for each constituency, nicely. However after the results your technical staff
and officers did not enter the actual votes for each constituency.
Here’s a small piece of what you have:

Kwadwo, after the elections one would have expected to see something like this
below. The key word RESULTSis what everybody is looking for and I think this would
have avoided all the various debates and argument. After all everybody can see and
compare to what they found in their village and constituency or polling station. If
this table had been designed before the results started coming in, you could have
tabulated this as the results were being read. It should not take somebody with
experience in Excel Spreadsheet more than an hour to design /add the additional
columns for the Presidential and Parliamentary as I have done here.

I know you guys are at the Supreme Court and this may be too late to correct. Let me
copy your Directors of Operations, Elections and IT whom I think should take
responsibility for these facilitation of results on your Website.
Some of these issues about number crunching using computer Spreadsheets are
elementary for some of us with lots of experience in Engineering and Finance in the
US. Please all you Honorable men and Commissioners, feel free to contact me if you
need any help.

BTW Kwadwo, when are you retiring?
Before you retire, I’d like to help your staff design a permanent Personal ID number
for Ghana, and so please guys, feel free to contact me. I see many of the things you
are doing and I know you are trying your best but many do not have the experience.
Ghana needs one Single ID number that is carried from Birth to Death and used
throughout School, Elections, Retirement, Health Care, and that is like the US
Social Security Number (SS#).
Doc., please, we don’t need any World Bank loans for this. Ghana did not educate all
of us Engineers for us to work overseas and you guys in Ghana cannot do certain
things we consider elementary and we can help on. However you have to approach us.
I cannot force my ideas on you guys. We also need a STREET ADDRESSING system, and I
think you have the best opportunity to propose this with the Interior Minister to
get all the DCEs to coordinate and get this done easily. I have over 20 years in
the Finance and Real Estate Business after Engineering, and I am willing to offer
free advice; but of course you can also give me a Contract to deliver this service
and I will do it in one year that has taken you guys over 30 years and nobody seems
to understand it! I will charge for it without costing the government a dime.

Please say Hi to old buddies.
All the best,
Hope you can do the keyboarding (“typing”) and reply to this yourself.

Kwaku
