Coach Herbert Addo snubs AshantiGold

It has emerged that former league winner and experienced trainer Herbert Addo rejected advances from Obuasi AshantiGold as the club looks to bring in a substantive gaffer after the exit of Coach Yaw Aheampong and his assistant Kamara Dini.

Your authoritative newspaper, 90 MINUTES ,can reveal that Herbert Addo who guided the then Obuasi Gold Fields to a second place finish in the CAF Champions league in 1997 has been approached by the hierarchy of the Obuasi-based club to take over the managerial duties.

However, the much travelled coach declined the sumptuous AshantiGold offer as he is content with his current role as the Technical Director of the MTN Soccer Academy Reality TV show.

Our sources further suggest that the experienced trainer who last piped his former employers to the league title with murky situation within the club. Ashgold in the meantime have former national star Kofi Amoako as caretaker coach.

He has made an impressive start to his managerial reign at the club picking eight points out of a possible twelve.
