Tema Youth officials fined GH¢13,000 in total

Misconduct of club official, James Lamina, who went into the match officials dressing room and issued death threats on the referee contrary to Article 39 (7a) of the Regulations of the Ghana Football Association.

Misconduct of club official, Wilfred Kwaku Osei, went into the match officials dressing room with insults and threats and accused the match officials of taken money from Chelsea to cheat Tema Youth contrary to Article 39 (7a) of the Regulations of the Ghana Football Association.

Misconduct of club official, Prince Owusu, rushed onto the pitch at the end of the first half and rained insults on the referee for taking some bad decisions against Tema Youth contrary to Article 39 (7a) of the Regulations of the Ghana Football Association.

FINDINGS

While we find several inconsistencies in the defence put up by Mr. James Lamina, the Operations Assistant, the evidence points to the fact that both he and his Club President did intrude on the privacy of the Match Officials during recess and the motive for that action could not have been benign especially, as Mr Wilfred Osei himself claims to have addresses the Referee at the top of his voice. Simpliciter, Club Officials are not permitted under the Rules and Ethics of Association Football to approach Match Officials' dressing room during recess. It is our outmost belief that the conduct exhibited by the two accused Club officials constituted misconduct under the GFA Regulation 39(7)(a).

By his own admission, Mr Prince Owusu, the Technical Director invaded the field to accost the Referee, a demonstration frowned upon by GFA Regulation 39(7)(a). We therefore, do not hesitate to find him guilty as charged.

DECISION:

On the basis of the above findings, the Committee decided as follows:

a. Mr Prince Owusu, the Technical Director is fined GH¢ 3,000.00 in line with GFA Regulation 39(7)(a).

b. Mr Wilfred Osei, the President is fined GH¢ 5,000.00 in line with GFA Regulation 39(7)(a).

c. Mr James Lamina, the Operations Assistant is fined GH¢ 5,000.00 in line with GFA Regulation 39(7)(a).
