NDC 'prodigal son' Ofei Agyemang returns home

A former member of the National Democratic Party Dr. Kwasi Offei Agyemang has descended heavily on the free Senior High School (SHS) education being championed by the opposition New Patriotic Party saying the policy is not viable.

The Former Ayawaso West Parliamentary Candidate for the NDC in the 2008 elections who has retraced his steps back into the National Democratic Congress has made a passionate appeal to all agitated Members to return to the Party to work towards the enhancement of the 'Better Ghana Agenda'.

Dr. Agyemang who joined the newly formed National Democratic Party (NDP) in the middle of the year quit the party and endorsed the NPP's Nana Akufo-Addo, calling him a visionary.

But at a press conference held on Thursday, Dr. Agyemang said it was time to unite with his party to win the December polls.

“I believe that it is important for us to express what we feel about issues such as free SHS. It is not our priority. For anyone to suggest that that alone is going to solve Ghana’s education problems falls flat in the face,” he said.

He said education should enable Ghanaians to create harmony among each other and not merely provide them with certificates.

He argued that the NPP’s free SHS is not a well thought through idea and must be subjected to strict proof.
