Aliu Mahama is Not Dead; On Life Support

Ghanaweb.com can authoritatively report that former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama is not dead contrary to media reports that he had passed on earlier in the day.  

Family sources say Alhaji Aliu MahamaAliu Mahama is currently on a life support system, a device that allows human beings to survive supplying air, water and food. It also stabilizes the body temperature.

 According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital, Professor Nii Otu Nartey, Alhaji Aliu Mahama is still in a critical condition at the Cardio Centre of the hospital. 
 
The former Vice President has been at the hospital for about ten days where he is being treated for what is believed to be a heart related ailment.

Alhaji Aliu Mahama was the Vice President for eight years under the erstwhile Kufuor administration.

President Mahama last week charged the doctors to provide Alhaji Aliu Mahama with all the needed medical care he requires.
