EC Chairman must resign - Nkansah

EC CHAIRMAN MUST RESIGN BEFORE ECETION 2012

The Embattled Presidential Candidate of the New Vision Party (NVP), Prophet Daniel Nkansah is calling for immediate resignation of the EC Boss, Dr.Kwadwo Afari Gyan,before the upcoming 2012 general elections.

According to the him,since the EC have been indicted in a bribery and corruption case, the EC Boss must leave his post until investigations are completed.

The Director for Election, Isaac Kofi Asomaning and the Director for Logistics, Asante Kissi were both arrested on October after the founder of the New Vision Party (NVP), Prophet Daniel Nkansah accused them of allegedly taking Gh¢1,600 bribe from him to facilitate the filing of his nomination forms.

Speaking on Aseda Radio in Belgium news analysis program Bamaso,Prophet Nkansah hinted that he is ready to

assist the Police in invetigations of the matter.Adding that the integrity of the EC has been tarnished.

Meanwhile,an Accra High Court on November 5, declined to grant an injunction the party was seeking to prevent the Electoral Commission from printing the presidential ballot papers for the December 7 elections.

According to the court, personal interest should not override public interest, stressing that the cost the EC would suffer cannot be compared to that of the individual.
