All-Die-Be-Die Rolling In Kumasi

A member of the Communication Team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Hopeson Adoye turned the acoustic studios of the Kumasi-based Kesben FM into a boxing arena where he unleashed his pugilist skills on one Donkor Fusieni, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on a live programme last Saturday evening .

The late night political talk show on the said radio station had Mr. Adoye, Dr. Ayarkwa, former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ejura Sekyere Dumasi attacking the NDC government for corruption being endemic in the John Mahama administration over the past few months, calling President Mahama, a thief.

The Herald sources say the duo minced no words when they lampooned the NDC for constructing a Six-unit classroom at a whopping cost of ¢2 billion when the same classroom block was constructed in the NPP regime, led by the ex-President John Agyekum Kufour administration, for eight hundred million Cedis in 2008.

According to the source, Mr. Fuseini, onetime NDC parliamentary candidate for Nsuta-Kwarman Beposo Constituency and current National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) District Coordinator for Skyere District in the Ashanti Region maintained his cool under extreme provocation from the NPP panelists on the show.

When it was Fuseini’s turn to speak, he questioned why the NPP in the region had kept mute when the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) for Suame Constituency, Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu had claimed that he had built a six-unit classroom block out the MP’s Common fund at a whopping cost of ¢2.3 billion.

He asked the NPP panelists, whether the action of the sitting MP building a six-unit classroom block way above the prescribed cost did not also amount to corruption or thievery?

This did not go down well with the pugilist NPP Communication member, Mr. Adoye who is being sought after by the Nkwakaw police for allegedly assaulting the NDC communication member in the studios of Life FM, in the Eastern Region.

The source said before the NDC candidate could say jack, Mr. adoye landed a hefty blow on his face sending him sprawling on the floor.

The source says whilst Fuseini was struggling to recover from the upper cut dealt him by Mr. Adoye, he (Hopeson) carried the studio chair which he was seating on to hit the soft-spoken, district NADMO coordinator.

The issue degenerated with NDC members storming the Kesben FM to rescue their colleague, while Mr. Adoye was whisked away by the owners of the radio station into one of their secret rooms.

The Herald learnt that the assault has been reported to the Kumasi police and the victim Mr. Fuseini has been given a medical form to go to the hospital.

The police tried to arrest Mr. Adoye, but the radio station failed to produce him, and hours after waiting, the NDC members had to leave the station.

A press conference is expected today by the NDC Ashanti Regional executive on the incident.
