Black Stars back in top 30 in Fifa rankings

Ghana improved two places up on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking released Wednesday to return to the top 30 bracket of footballing nations.

The latest edition of the November ranking pits the Black Stars at 29th on the overall standings from the previous 31st position after accumulating 40 more points to reach a total of 762.

The November edition of the ranking saw plenty of movement with 77 qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil ensuring a number of changes compared to last month.

Ghana remain fourth on the African ranking table. Ivory Coast are still leaders followed by Algeria and Mali in that order.

Spain are still tops with Germany second and Argentina moving into third on the world ranking table.

The results of 146 'A' internationals were taken into account on the current edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, of which more than half (77) were qualifiers for the next FIFA World Cup. 25 were CONCACAF/AFC continental qualifiers and 44 were friendlies.
