NPP Turns to Quattara for Cash and Campaign Vehicles

*The 2012 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo has taken his desperation to become president “at all cost” to a new dimension by flouting the electoral rules on campaign funding.

The True Statesman ‘s investigations has uncovered details of a meeting between Quattara’s Chief of Staff and Nana Akufo-Addo where an amount of CFA 2million was donated to the NPP campaign.*

*Nana Addo and his team were in Ivory Coast last month were a series of meetings were held with the Ivorian Chief of staff.*

*The True Statesman can reliably and evidently confirm that, the NPP has taken delivery of fleet of vehicles; 200 pick-ups, and 60 new land cruisers from Allasane Ouattara to aid its campaign.*

*This is also against the electoral laws of the country for a foreigner and any foreign institution to sponsor or contribute to the campaigning process of any political party contesting in an election. *

*We are also evidently aware that, Ouattara has also recruited some of his militants and his given them special training to be deployed into the country in run-off to the December general elections through unapproved routes on the border between Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire*

*The NPP well aware of they loosing the elections is devising all means to ensure that there will be power sharing and therefore are aligning themselves with our neighboring French countries to deny Ghana of having a peaceful elections.*

*The regulatory regime of the political parties Act in Ghana specifically states sources of private funding are permitted and those prohibited. The law even imposed some limits on the acceptable sources of cash as the traditional sources of party financing according to the Ghana’s Political Parties Act insists on "Only a citizen may contribute in cash or in kind to the funds of a political party".

It explained that that citizen includes a Ghanaian owned firm, partnership or enterprise or a company that is registered in Ghana and is at least seventy-five per cent Ghanaian owned.”

*However, Nana Akufo-Addo in his usual predilection of betraying the rules has now turned to Ivory Coast for support.*
