MTN CEO's contempt case adjourned to October 16

An Accra High Court has adjourned the contempt case brought by Dr Raymond Atuguba against MTN Ghana CEO Michael Ikpoki and some top executives.

The MTN executives failed to comply with an order by the court to restore mobile phone services to the former Executive Secretary of the Constitution Review Commission.

Counsel for MTN the CEO and the company’s other executives, Samuel Kudjo told the Court on Tuesday that his clients were not properly served with the court order.

But Dr. Atuguba who is also a Lawyer in an interview with XYZ News said the argument by MTN’s lawyer is untenable.

“I don’t really think that it is a big deal, if they haven’t been served all I will do is to serve them again.

“I think that what they want to do is not to obey the court order so that more Ghanaians will take them on because once I succeed in this action it can be a signal to Ghanaians that they also can take them on and succeed”.

The case has been adjourned to October 16 for ruling.
