Lets stay united to win the election – NDC members urged

Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been urged to stay united behind the party to enable it win the December general elections and continue the Better Ghana Agenda.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Sunday, the Chairman of the Odododiodioo Constituency of the NDC, Mr Daniel Nii Okai, noted that a certain political party had vowed to entice NDC members to abandon it and join their ranks.

Mr Okai popularly known as “Toza” said their plans would not materialise since NDC members were committed to the party and would not abandon the party for any other one since “a rolling stone gathers no moss”.

He described the “so-called party” as a non-starter and said the NDC would win the December general election because it had the best candidate in the person of President John Dramani Mahama, who he said was a born leader who was liked by all.

Mr Okai stated that having under studied the late President John Evans Atta Mills as his vice, President Mahama was the best person to continue the good works of the former Head of State especially in the areas of infrastructural development and consolidating the economy.

He said some detractors of the NDC had vowed that they would ensure that the Mills-Mahama administration became a one term government adding that after the untimely demise of the former President, Ghanaians had come to realize the achievements of the NDC within its first term, which he said was unprecedented in the history of the country.

The Odododiodioo NDC Chairman said the cardinal principle of the party still remained probity and accountability and called on the electorate to retain the NDC to continue the development of the country.

He warned those who wanted to create a wedge between the party and its Founder to desist from their plans since it would not work adding that the presence of Former President Rawlings at the special congress of the party that confirmed President Mahama as the Flag-bearer of the NDC was ample proof that no one could “detach the founder from the party that he natured”.
