Clottey, Kpodo, Nafiu to miss Chelsea v Mazembe game

Berekum Chelsea will be without their top scorer Emmanuel Clottey for Sunday’s CAF Champions League final group B fixture against TP Mazembe at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The striker who is a goal shy of equalling the highest goals scored by an individual player in the history of the competition currently held by Stephen Worgu whose record stands at 13goals was yesterday unveiled by Esperance, the current holders of the competition after agreeing to a three year deal with the Tunisian club.

Central defensive pair Edward Kpodo and Awudu Nafiu who scored in the one all draw to Zamalek a fortnight ago are also ruled out of the Mazembe game.

Kpodo picked up a knock in the build up to the Zamalek game and has since failed to recover and the latter; Nafiu is out of the game due to accumulated cards related suspension.

Chelsea who have bagged 6 points from five games have nothing to gain in Sunday’s game as their opponents TP Mazembe and Egypt’s Al Ahly have already qualified for the semis with 10 points each.
