Bawumia is not just better than his Opponents

He has what it takes to be Ghana’s Best Vice President ever. Does anyone doubt that Dr. Bawumia has what it takes to be Ghana’s best VP ever? I feel like even NDC folks know this. With Nana’s experience and focus on education and economic transformation along with the youthful vigour, sharp and creative mind of Dr. Bawumia, the NPP is presenting Ghana with the best one-two punch executive leadership team ever.

With the indomitable General Secretary and the exciting National Youth Organiser in the persons of Messrs Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie and Anthony Abayifaa Karbo in tow, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia stormed Canada recently to impressive crowds in both Toronto and Edmonton, thanks to the hard work of so many people within the party, especially Chairmen Opoku-Agyemang and Kwame Abrefa, their Executive Teams and Planning Committees.

Having mourned and respectfully said goodbye to our late President Mills, many Ghanaians have turned their attention to the unfortunate performance of the NDC government and the still suffering Ghanaians alive. Indeed, Ghanaians have turned to judge the lies, corruption, poor judgment, arrogance and incompetence of the NDC Government. In fact, many objective minded Ghanaians realize that the absence of the Late Prof. Mills will only exacerbate the NDC’s poor performance as the “Team B” is now firmly in control and without the mitigation of the good Prof.

Many Ghanaians are however cannot wait at the prospect of ending the Bitter Ghana agenda and resuming as well as building upon the unmatched progress chalked by the recent NPP government led by H. E. President J. A. Kufuor. If even the original Architect of the Bitter Agenda could not carry it through, how plausible is it that the second in command, in the person of President Mahama, could salvage it or even do better? Truly, a majority of Ghanaians are determined to usher in another era of hope for the people by voting NPP this year. And, God-willing, no force shall stop the people from achieving their goals of throwing out incompetent, hypocritical, corrupt and tired leadership.

Having listened to the message of Dr. Bawumia delivered in Toronto, it dawned on me why he brings so much trepidation into the hearts of the NDC and why it seems to take so many Ministries to rebut the message of this man everytime he goes out to dissect the myriads of failures of the NDC government and tell the people about the NPP’s positively serious plans for their future. Even the NDC’s choice of Mr. Kwesi Amissah-Arthur as Vice President seems like a crude imitation of the choice of Dr. Bawumia for VP.

Dr. Bawumia brings unmatched gravitas to his role. His accomplishments in both academia and in the real world of finance are truly impressive. His accomplishments and contributions at the Bank of Ghana and in other impressive jobs are universally respected. So, when he speaks of the many failures of this NDC government, the great work done in the previous NPP government and Nana’s plans for the people, it carries unbelievable weight and makes the NDC propagandists squirm. Comparing Dr. Bawumia with say VP Amissah-Arthur’s woeful performance at the Bank of Ghana really is truly unfair.

Dr. Bawumia further embodies the solidity, hard work and the seriousness of purpose that is apparent that Nana attaches to the real battle at hand. And, with all due regard to the NDC and their famous political tricks, they are not the most serious threat to the NPP or Ghana. The most serious threats to the NPP and Ghana are poverty, disease and unemployment afflicting the people.

As the Chairman of NPP Edmonton & Calgary, Canada, Kwame Abrefa puts it, when I spoke with him on July 23rd, the man (Dr. Bawumia) is absolutely impressive. As so many Ghanaians in Canada will attest, the man is ready to work effectively with Nana to transform Ghana. Yes, he is full of the requisite knowledge to help turn Ghana around.

As a devout Muslim, he also oozes humility and serenity which brings pride to his fellow believers. In fact, he is the only Muslim on either of the ticket of the two major parties in Ghana – the NDC & NPP. Furthermore, as a high achiever, he brings pride to his fellow Northerners, not just as the next likely Vice President of Ghana but a key mind in the work ahead of our nation to change its underachieving destiny around, now and in the future. As he did at the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Bawumia is expected the powerful leader of ideas in the next government.

Looking at the profile of and listening to Dr. Bawumia for a short while surely renews hope of a bright future for Ghana. Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP’s leadership, well-done, for showing all discerning Ghanaians about your seriousness of uniting Ghanaians and placing a premium on hiring well; to focus on transforming the economy and politics of our nation, by choosing Dr. Bawumia again as Vice Presidential Candidate and, God-willing, the next Vice President of Ghana. The NPP’s choice of Dr. Bawumia as Running Mate and future VP says that the party is committed to bringing all hands on deck and putting seriously skilled Ghanaians into leadership, regardless of political background or lack thereof, to help bring about overdue change in the fortunes of our nation. Yes, Dr. Bawumia has the experience to be a wildly successful VP.
