Pineapple seller dies on Ho-Kpetoe road

Rebecca Emefa Suitor died on the spot on Monday when the Kia mini bus in which she and five others were travelling got involved in an accident on the Ho-Denu Highway.

The five others including the driver of the Kia mini bus which was loaded with pineapples, sustained serious head injuries.

Emefa Suitor, a fruit seller at the Ho Central Market and two other women were said to be travelling back to Ho from Dzodze where they went to purchase pineapples.

Eyewitnesses said the bus appeared to be on top speed and burst one of its back tyres a few metres from Akwetey Junction, near Kpetoe.

They said the driver lost control of the bus and applied the brakes which somersaulted the bus.

When the GNA visited the Volta Regional Hospital, staffs of the Hospital were seen busily attending to three young men including the driver of the bus and two women.

Few minutes after the accident, many traders, especially fruit sellers at the Ho Central Market stormed the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Regional Hospital wailing profusely.

A middle-aged woman who spoke to the GNA said she spoke to Emefa Suitor few hours before the news of her death and could not believe she was dead.**
