Nii Adjei denies rejecting Kotoko contract extension

The reigning Premier League player of the year, Daniel Nii Adjei has denied rejecting a contract extension from premier League champions Asante Kotoko.

Media reports seemed to suggest that the midfielder had rejected a two-year contract extension offer from Asante Kotoko, but Nii Adjei told footy-ghana.com that the reports were wide off the mark.

‘I have not rejected any contract offer, neither have I spoken of any intention of doing so.’

Nii Adjei explained that he had been made an offer by Asante Kotoko which he was going to study with his representatives ahead of a meeting next week.

‘Kotoko has made me an offer, but my representatives and I are yet to fully study it. We will do so and meet with the club next week.’

Nii Adjei, who has been with the club since 2007, is known to favour staying with the Porcupine Warriors and footy-ghana.com understands that the Asante Kotoko hierarchy is keen on retaining his services.
