CPP and PNC cannot merge - F.A Jantuah

A leading member of the Convention People’s Party F.A Jantuah has kicked against the merger between his party and the People’s National Congress (PNC).

The two Nkrumahist parties are in talks to form an alliance for the December elections.

But Mr. Jantuah who is a member of the CPP Council of Elders said the two parties have different ideologies and cannot merge.

“If you are Nkrumahist then join the CPP, if you are not Nkrumahist then join the PNC because PNC was established by Liman and the CPP was established by the Kwame Nkrumah, you cannot merge the two.

“One must absorb the other, if you are an Nkrumahist believing in the ideological conventions of Nkrumah then join the CPP, you cannot say that you are merging the two because Liman is not Nkrumah” Mr. Jantuah said.**
