NDC Has Delivered On Manifesto Pledge-Minister

News Desk Report

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) government of Professor John Evans Atta-Mills has delivered on the promises made to the people of Ghana in its manifesto, and therefore deserves a second term in office.

The then candidate Atta Mills in 2008 promised the people of the Volta Region a state university, rapid infrastructural development, as well as smooth construction of the Eastern Corridor Roads; and has since delivered on these promises.

These observations were made by a Deputy Minister of Transport, Hon. Dzifa Attivor at a ceremony to present 48 laptops under the Better Ghana project, to schools in Abutia, in the newly created Ho West District of the Volta Region. She was upbeat that the good people of Ghana would return the president to office to continue with his prudent and relentless socio-economic development agenda, recalling that during the electioneering campaigns of 2008, the then candidate of the NDC, promised the people of the Volta region that the party was going to ensure that the region gets at least one state University, as well as the construction of the Eastern Corridor roads.

“As I speak now, there are adverts in the dailies inviting prospective students to apply for placement at the university, and we have made enough provision for the start of academic work this year”, she stated.

“I want to assure you all sitting here that no university anywhere in the world starts academic work in a completely new campus, as some opponents of our government are claiming”, she added.

Madam Attivor also made a personal donation of one corn mill at the cost of two thousand cedis, (GH¢2,000) to the Abutia Secondary Technical School According to her, since assuming political power, the National Democratic Congress administration has invested tremendous resources in developing the education sector.

“As a government, we shall continue to invest a lot in ensuring that the party’s manifesto pledge of building a better Ghana through investing in the people is fully achieved’, she assured.

She advised the electorate to be wary of politicians who are going round the country promising the people of Ghana, free education, adding that, we must first have the infrastructure in place before those selfish politicians deceive the people.

For his part, the Paramount Chief of the Abutia Traditional Area, Togbega Abutia Kwadwo Gidi, urged parents to invest in the children’s education, especially, the girl child.

He said the traditional Council will not spare parents who refuse to see their children through school.
