Ghana to Launch Africa’s Operating System Software

The Ghana Center for Entrepreneurship, Employment and Innovation in collaboration with Oasis Websoft will today launch an African Operating System Software known as the Ananse Operating System Software.
The Ananse Operating System Software designed by Oasis Websoft Chief Executive Officer Raindolf Owusu is a simple unique GNOME clone OS developed on top of the linux kernel which re-defines the linux desktop user experience. It is embedded with all the basic softwares and system wares that will enhance connectivity an example is the wine-devel package .Although originally developed first for 32-bit x86-based PCs (386 or higher), Anansi OS is now easily portable to most general-purpose 32- or 64-bit architectures. It is a cross platform. Oasiswebsoft has a developer Kit for any developer who wants to help with this open Suse/Gnome project.
Raindolf Owusu is a 21 year Old Second Year Student of the Methodist University College who spent over a year designing this Operating System Software which is based on the Open Source Coding and can be modified by other developers to be better in its nature. The OS will be available for download at 8pm today the 25th of June 2012. In a series of programs scheduled for the month of July, the Ghana Center for Entrepreneurship, Employment and Innovation will on the 4th of July 2012 hold the 3rd Edition of its Ghana Youth Employment Forum at the World Bank Ghana Office to assess the impact of some Five major institutions with the defined mandate of providing skills training and creating jobs in Ghana, these initiatives to be assessed covers both private and government initiatives and their corresponding impact on the Youth in Ghana.
And on the 7th of July, in a unique Forum to help Writers, Authors, Publishers maximize the full potential of e-commerce and taking advantage of the emerging online market in Ghana to sell their creative works online, the Center is organizing a one day practical learning session in collaboration with Bernard Kelvin Clive, a young prolific writer who continues to fully utilize these online marketing tools to sell and publish his creative works online, creating its corresponding apps for Android phones amongst others to make his materials available to all, having had his motivational pieces been the most downloaded on ITunes in the month of May with a growing presence amongst many writers in Ghana, Bernard will speak on “How to Get Published in 24 Hours-Selling one’s creative works online”. There will be publishing Houses and others to help participants at the Forum to maximize the full potential in what they do. This event will be held at the Silver Lounge, Accra Mall on the 7th of July from 9:00 am-12:00 pm. Tickets are available at the Silver Lounge –Accra Mall for GHC15.00
The Center for Entrepreneurship, Employment and Innovation’s commitment towards promoting Entrepreneurship, creating Employment opportunities and maximizing Ghana’s potential in Innovation will be fully birth when it is duly launched by Government by the end of August to open its doors to Young aspiring Entrepreneurs across the Country, working in partnership with all institutions with same aspirations and visions. The Center’s mission, mandate and programs will all be unveiled for all to understand and engage the Center on.
In the mean time we believe these programs scheduled for the Month of July will be duly patronized, starting today with the Launch of the Ananse Operating System Software and will go a long way to empower others to step up and engage with us in our commitment towards promoting Entrepreneurship, Employment and Innovation in Ghana.
