I will enhance Ghana- Egypt cooperation-H.E Sinare

Ghana’s affable ambassador to Egypt has re-affirmed his
country’s commitment in strengthening the relationship between Ghana and Egypt.
H.E Ambassador Alhaji Said Sinare said, Ghana is happy with the positive
political transformation ongoing on in Egypt and fully supports the political
developments.

Ambassador Sinare said he is in Egypt to intensify
cooperation with Egypt, especially in the areas of commerce, education,
agriculture, medicine and other strategic areas for the benefit of the two
countries.
The Ghanaian ambassador made the comments when he presented
his letter of credence to the head of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces
(SCAF) and Head of State of Egypt, H.E Field Marshal Mohammed Hussein Tantawi
on the 12th May, 2012 in Cairo
According to ambassador Sinare, the friendship between Ghana
and Egypt dates back to 1957 and the need to enhance it and make it stronger.
He praised Egypt for its continuous support, even during the most difficult
periods of Ghana’s history.
He noted that, Egypt has always kept a presence in Ghana,
contributing to the human resource development via the training, in the
provision of Scholarships in the areas of agriculture, health, medicine,
amongst others.
Ambassador Sinare stated that, ‘’I am confident that there
will be numerous opportunities for frank and constructive dialogue between the
two countries to further strengthen and solidify the bilateral relation,’’ and
further noting, ‘’ both countries share similar aspirations, to live in peace
and prosperity without fear of nuclear weapons, sea level rise and global climate
change.

Responding, the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) and
Head of State of Egypt, H.E Field Marshal Mohammed Hussein Tantawi, spoke of
the long standing relationship between the two countries dating as far back as
1957, and the need to continue sharing experiences and expertise for the
benefit of humanity.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Sinare has held talks with Sheik
Al-Azhar of Cairo-Egypt to discuss issues of increment in the number of
scholarships Cairo gives to Ghana, and the need to widen the scholarships
arrangement for Muslims to also explore other ares including medicine,
agriculture et al.
The President of Al-Azhar University in Cairo has assured me
that ‘’from next year Cairo will increase the scholarships it gives to Ghana
and also extend the scholarship to cover a lot more areas for the Muslim
community,’’ H.E Sinare said.
The Ambassador of Ghana, H.E. Alhaji Said Sinare assumed duty
in Cairo on 10th March, 2012. He is also concurrently accredited to The
Sudan, Lebanon and Cyprus.
