Nana Akuffu-Addo receives rousing welcome in Bawku

Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo, flag bearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2012 presidential election at the weekend received a rousing welcome from the people of Bawku who also reaffirmed their support for the party in the December polls.

Accompanied by his running-mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and some senior members and executives of the party, Nana Akuffo-Addo toured the Bawku municipality and its environs, the Garu-Tempane District, and the Bawku West District as part of his campaign tour to the Upper East Region.

In all those areas he visited, the NPP flagbearer reassured the people of the party’s commitment to bring change to their lives when voted into power.

Addressing party faithfuls at Mugnori near Bawku, Nana Akuffu-Addo said the NPP was committed to ensuring the development of the community.

He noted that Ghanaians had for the past four years suffered under the Mills-Mahama administration and that it was time they gave the NPP a chance to revamp the economy and bring about quality change in the lives of the people of Ghana.

Nana Akuffu- Addo hinted that the party had formulated developmental policies that would focus on the youth since they were the driving force of national development.

He gave the assurance that the party would take the necessary steps, including the revamping of the agricultural sector, human resource empowerment, improvements in the education and health sectors among others, to put the nation's economy back on a sound footing.

At a curtsey call on the Bawku Naba, Zug-Ran Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, Nana Akuffu Addo assured traditional rulers of the party’s commitment to support traditional authority by empowering them to promote peace in their traditional areas if the party comes to power.

He called on the people of Bawku to embrace peace because it was the only thing that could foster development in the area.**
