Parliamentarian donates ambulance to constituents

Mr Benjamin Ayeh, New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira West, has called on his constituents to go for regular medical check-ups and adhere to strict medical prescriptions to prevent ill-health.

He said this was the only antidote for them to have control over medical complications that contributed to the high mortality rate.

“Some illnesses do not show any symptoms and it is only regular check-up that will detect those diseases,” he said.

Mr. Ayeh made the call when he presented four multi-purpose ambulances valued at GH¢140,000 to four communities in the constituency.

The constituencies are Diaso, Ntom, Subin and Dominase.

The ambulances which have been distributed to the various health posts in the beneficiary communities would be used for other activities including periodic mobile clinics to the localities and surrounding areas.

The ambulances have been fitted with special communication gadgets that could facilitate direct services during emergency situations.

He advised them to undertake regular exercises in lieu of its health benefits to the human immune system, and to observe a healthy dietary regime to boost their disease resistance.

Mr Ayeh, said the presentation was to make health service delivery accessible to the people particularly the aged.

He promised to pay the salaries of drivers who would be employed as well as their regular maintenance.**
