Reroy Cables CEO receives award

The Chief Executive Officer of Reroy Cables Limited, a leading manufacturer of electrical and telecommunication cables Mrs Kate Quartey-Papafio has been honoured at the recently held 2nd Ghana Women of Excellence Awards held in Accra.
She was recognised for being the only woman operating in the cable manufacturing sector which was considered the preserve of men and foreign entrepreneurs. “She has proven herself to be a courageous, proactive and resourceful entrepreneur, who sees risk as an opportunity for growth”, stated in a citation that preceded the award.
The event which was organised by the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affair was under the theme, “Empowering Ghanaian Women for National Development.”
Mrs. Kate Quartey-Papafio, the first Ghanaian lady to become a member of the Commonwealth Business Council, Ghana, has served on a number of boards and participated in a number of international conferences including the Commonwealth Business Conference in Ghana.
Through her leadership, Reroy has prosecuted laudable Corporate Social Responsibilities in the form of financial and material donations to causes such as the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital and the ‘kayayei’ project set up under the leadership of Pamela Bridgewater, former US ambassador to Ghana.
Kate Quartey-Papafio is currently the chairperson of the Electrical and Electronics sub-sector of the Association of Ghana Industries.
Reroy Cables has many awards to its credit including the Silver Award at the 3rd Ghana-Africa Business Awards organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in appreciation of its trade with other African countries.
