TP Mazembe relishes tough competition

DR Congo champions TP Mazembe have welcomed the CAF Champions League draw held on Tuesday, which placed them in the group dubbed the "Group of death."

"I like the way it has worked out. It's good for us. I think we'll do well in this group," TP Mazembe official Frederic Kitengie told cafonline.com after the draw.

"We know the Egyptian sides very well, both Ahly and Zamalek, and Berekum Chelsea is new to the competition. It all works out nicely for us, because we know we'll face fierce competition from the teams in our group," he added.

The draw, conducted on Tuesday, paired the four-time African champions with six-time title holders Ahly, five-time African champions Zamalek, and new kids on the block Berekum Chelsea.

TP Mazembe were disqualified from the last edition of the CAF Champions League for fielding an ineligible player during round 32.
