Hearts coach plays down player sabotage reports

Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Charles Kwablah Akunnor has played down media reports that some players are undermining his efforts with the team. Akunnor has won two out of five league matches since taking over as the club's head coach, but he told Kumasi-based radio station FOX FM that his focus is rather to work towards moving Hearts of Oak forward.

“I don't want to go there but there is a need for all and sundry to bring hands on deck. The playing body and technical team has to work with some sense of urgency so we can correct all the wrongs and make the necessary changes to move forward."

Akunnor also told FOX FM that his staff is doing everything possible to find a winning formula, adding that there are challenges to be examined and surmounted.

"As members of the technical team, we are doing our best to find the winning ways but as much as we are tediously working, we will admit there are some internal challenges which will be looked at. This team I believe will go places."
