GFA yet to decide on coach Appiahâ??s backroom staff

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is yet to decide on the composition of the backroom staff of new Black Stars trainer, Kwasi Appiah.

Appiah, 51, was on Tuesday unveiled as the new Black Stars head coach replacing Serbian Goran Stevanovic but will have to wait for sometime as far as the identities of other members of his technical team are concerned.

Kwesi Nyantakyi President of the GFA said that his outfit is currently reviewing the composition of the backroom staff of the various national teams and will soon make public the membership.

“The decision will be done in consultation with the coach,” Nyantakyi remarked specifically on the members of the Black Stars technical team".

With no specific time frame he said, “very soon we will announce it.”

Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu has been tipped as the best person to deputize for Appiah with a couple of new faces expected in other areas of the team.

The technical team of the Black Stars is expected to be made public before the team’s first match against Lesotho in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier on June 1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.**
