RAP To Hold Unprecedented Forum on Prez. Mills' Achievements

All roads will lead to the College of Physicians & Surgeons off the Independence Avenue at Ridge in Accra at 4:00 pm today where a mega forum on the achievements of the Mills government will take place.

Under the theme, UNPRECEDENTED ACHIEVEMENTS UNDER THE MILLS PRESIDENCY: REALITY OR MYTH, the organizers of the programme, Research & Advocacy Platform, (RAP), say it is an opportunity to interrogate the achievements chalked by the government since it came to office in 2009.

The Convener of RAP, Felix Owusu-Kwakye told the Daily Post in an interview yesterday the forum is an opportunity for the doubting Thomases to see, hear and find out for themselves the developmental strides made under the Mills presidency the past three years. “I don’t want to pre-empt what will take place at the forum. All one has to do is to be present to hear and see things for him or herself as well as ask questions. I wish supporters of the NPP will pluck the courage to make it there. This is not about All-die-be-die. It is about real achievements that have improved on the living standard of Ghanaians” he said. Billed to speak on the programme are a number of government functionaries, among them Dr. Omane Boamah, Deputy Minister for Youth & Sports, Samuel Okujdeto-Ablakwa, a Deputy Minister for Information, Fifi Kwetey, a Deputy Minister for Finance, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, a Deputy Minister for Local government and Kobby Acheampong, Deputy Minister for the Interior.

“As you can see, we have an array of brilliant government functionaries ready to let everyone know the unprecedented achievements of the Mills government in just three years,” says Felix. Daily Postlearnt that the opportunity will also be used to outdoor the GREEN BOOK which chronicles some of the unprecedented achievements of the BETTER GHANA agenda.

“The GREEN BOOK definitely does not include the capture of a deer as an achievement of the Mills Presidency as was listed as an achievement of Kufuor and the NPP. It does not include a picture of a monkey at a monkey sanctuary as an achievement of government as happened under the NPP. The GREEN BOOK captures tangible development projects by the Mills Presidency. We shall be distributing it for free at the forum” says Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa when this paper sought his view on the forum.
