I didn't resign because of Akunnor - Shaibu Tanko

Former Assistant coach of Hearts of Oak Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko has denied rumours that he resigned from the club because of newly appointed coach C.K.Akunnor. He told Kumasi-based radio station FOX FM that he has his own philosophy.

'I respect everyone, young or old and I didn't resign because of him (C.K.Akunnor). I don't care who ever comes to take charge but I only had to back out.'

The physical education tutor called on the fans to rally behind the team because, according to him, the current crop of players have prospects, adding that he might return to the team one day.

'This team has a future and I will call on the fans to support them because they will go places and who knows, I may return to the team someday.'
